Certain care has to be taken, but the system can be used and left installed throughout the winter. When leaving your cabin, the batteries should ideally be fully charged. If you do not plan on being back to your cabin in the near future, the inverter can be disabled. If it will be a long time before you’re back, the system can be shut down completely. Tarquti recommends that clients remove the snow from the panels for optimal performance in winter.
In order to “winterize” or “shut down the system”, refer to the User Manual section 4.7.6 to understand the steps to optimize your equipment.
Tarquti’s ability to sell Siqinirsiutik at such a reduced rate depends on subsidies. To ensure a fair and equitable share to all communities, Tarquti distributes a limited number of products to each community and sells them on a first-come first-serve basis. To be the first to know about the restock, subscribe to our newsletter.
Tarquti recommends that you install your Siqinirsiutik within six (6) months following delivery for optimal battery lifespan. If you plan to install it later, it is recommended that you store the batteries in a warm environment.
All JBNQA beneficiaries from all 14 communities of Nunavik can buy the Siqinirsiutik as of August 22, 2024 at noon. Distribution will start at the end of August for all communities of Nunavik, except Salluit, Inukjuak, Puvirnituq, Kangiqsujuaq. These 4 communities (as well as a 2nd shipping for Kuujjuaq) will receive their products on the last sealift, although transactions are accepted as of August 22st, 2024 for those who wants to reserve the Siqinirsiutik.
Tarquti’s ability to sell Siqinirsiutik at such a reduced rate depends on subsidies. These subsidies vary from year to year, but Tarquti is working hard to have more Siqinirsiutik products available to JBNQA beneficiaries in the coming years.
